*A Lazy Monday*

Actually I wish it could be a lazy monday but with school starting for the kiddies in just 2 more days I have so much to still do. Tonight is open house for my 1st grader and my 8th grader. They go to different schools but the stupid school system out here scheduled them for the same time. How do they expect parents of more than one child to go from one side of town to the other and be at two places at one time. Sheesh. I have a headache just thinking about it.

I still have yet to take them to the mall tomorrow and finish up their school clothes shopping. I would have done it this weekend but the two older ones decided they wanted to spend the weekend with their friends for a before school starts party.

So it puts me in a bad place because I have to rush and get all the last minute things done just days before school starts.

I don't have much going on as far as crafting this week. I did get one doll done over the weekend but have yet to get its pictures taken and listed on ebay. I am just dragging along here.

This is a picture of Layla and Zoey doing a little pool party in the back yard over the weekend. Look at the look on the baby's face as she looks at her sister playing in HER baby pool. So funny!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Good Sunday Afternoon!

Just checking in on this rainy and humid day here in Nebraska. For some reason when it rains I just feel like laying on the couch all day and watching tv. But, today I had to finish up a couple of dolls so I can list them on ebay later.

I made these two kitties. I just love making kitties. We don't have any so I just have to live with the handmade ones.

I am not sure how much more I will be able to get done this week as far as crafting. It is only a week before school starts here and I still have to get all the clothes, shoes and school supply shopping out of the way. We have 3 different open houses for school to attend this week and school physicals to get done for the two teenagers for their sports.

Well, I hope everyone else has a great week! Many blessings to everyone!

~Good Wednesday Everyone!~

What a great day! The weather here in Nebraska is nice and I have been busy working on more of my creations. I managed to get three more things done. I found it is so easy to get things accomplished when you send the kids to the community pool or to the park. I love them all to pieces but it sure is quiet when they are not all couped up in the house doing nothing.
I just finished up this grungy little black halloween stump doll cat today. I just love everything old and grungy looking. I will probably be listing here on ebay tonight.

Here are two more paintings of emo kids that I finished up in the last few days. I like to go back and forth between sewing and painting so I don't get burnt out on doing one thing. Although everytime I am painting I am thinking about what doll I want to make next. I also have these paintings listed on ebay with buy it now options.
Well, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! I must get scooting so I can go clean up my messy craft room.

~I'm On A Roll!~

I finally feel like I am back to my old self again. I managed to create to more things this week. Yippie! It is just so relaxing being able to do something that you truely just love to be doing.

I actually sold my little Ogre doll on ebay. I was pretty excited. There was a time there that no matter what I listed it seemed nothing sold. So I think finally selling something gave me a little motivation to make more things.

Here is my black stump doll. She is so cute and grungy. I just love grungy things! Don't you?! I have her listed on ebay right now with a low starting bid.

I also finished one of my mixed media paintings. It was so fun. I actually spent the day teaching the kids how to do it. All of us sat at the table and pulled out our canvas' and got busy. This is mine, it is listed on ebay as well. When I get pictures of the childrens creations I will post their pictures. They are just too cute!

Well, everyone have a good day! I know I will, the weather has finally given us a break from the humidity and we are only to make it up to 82 degree today! How sweet!

Hugs,

*An update and a new doll listed!*

Wow! I am getting really bad at keeping up with my blog lately! It seems with the summer here and the kids constantly in my hair I have had no time for myself. I can not wait until the summer is over so they can all go back to school! Laugh

We have finally been able to get all our boxed unpacked and we are finally starting to feel at home in our new house. We have already done several projects in our home since we moved in two months ago. We stained our deck which took several weeks because it seemed to rain every other day. Every time the deck dried out for us to stain then it rained again. We also finished painting the walls in almost every room to the colors we like. I am still in the middle of decorating everything to my specific taste. It will take me some time I am sure to get it just perfect. It takes alot of searching via internet, ebay, antique malls and garage sales for those specific pieces.

On to another new thing. I managed to complete my first doll since living in my new house. Can you believe it took me 2 months to complete this little thing! She is my little green ogre Halloween doll. I am going to list her on ebay later on today. I am going to start her with a low starting bid with no reserve and see how it goes. I will probably regret it I am sure. Oh well, the price you pay for a crappy economy I guess.

I hope everyone has a great day and I will definately be better at this blogging and keeping everyone up to date!

It's Been Awhile..

Boy, Has it been awhile since I have blogged. I have been so busy! My husband and I have been in the process of purchasing our first home. We moved to Nebraska from California almost 4 years ago. We finally decided since we paid off all our credit card debts that we would take a leap and purchase a home.

After living here for 4 years we knew where the good and the bad areas of town were. We knew what area we wanted to move to. So we started looking about a month and a half ago and finally found the home we want to live in for the next 30 years at least. Laugh.

There is really no better time to buy than now. Home prices have dropped and interest rates are just wonderful.

Here is a picture of the outside of our new house. We are supposed to close next week. But, you know sometimes dates get a little drawn out. So far it looks like we will close in time.

I have been working on some crafts but mostly making things for myself. I have found some really neat pieces of old furniture from antique shops and have been sanding and distressing for what seems forever.

I promise to check in soon once we get all settled again. Then maybe I can start working on some new stuff.

Have a great day everyone!

Emo kids who cut themselves...

Yesterday I posted a picture that I drew for my daughter along with a story I was telling you about how her girlfriends like to carve the names of boys they like into their legs. It inspired me to draw another picture. This one is of a boy and a girl who cut themselves in the name of love. I know pretty dark. Maybe it is just the mood I am in. For some reason I actually enjoy drawing these emo kids. I don't by any means encourage anyone to cut themselves in the name of love. I am just inspired to draw whatever situation is occuring around me.

It must be doing something good from painting these emo kids because I have gotten a few emails from people who want me to draw/paint some of these pictures for them so they can frame them. Wow, who would have thought!

*Not my normal kind of Art..*

This is not my normal kind of art. But, I can admit that when I was a teenager trying to "find myself" I was a little goth/emo. I obviously grew out of it but now that I have teenage kids they also are going through that phase of dressing in black and acting like the whole world hates them. It makes me laugh sometimes. Kids now a days, especially mine have nothing to even be depressed about. I think my kids dress like this is to just fit in.

Their wardrobes change like the weather does here in Nebraska. Wait 5 mintues and it will change. Laugh. I drew this picture for my daughter Kendra. I have a couple of others that I am working on for her.

She actually come home from spending the night with one of her friends over the weekend and told me how a couple of her girlfriends actually use razor blades and carve names of boys into their legs! I was shocked! Then if they don't like that boy anymore they take the razor and scratch it out. My daughter told me that they have scared on their legs. What is with these kids? Of course being the mom I am demanded to see my daughters legs to make sure she wasn't doing something so stupid. I was relieved to see she didn't have anything like that. She assured me that she was not that stupid and would never do such a thing.

So to say the least she isn't allowed to hang out with these girls anymore. I don't like people like that trying to influence my kid to do such terrible things to themselves. It is sad because the girls who are doing this used to be such sweet girls. I knew them since they were in elementary school. What has happened along the way to make them this way?

So, after hearing her stories of what is going on with these girls I was inspired to draw some pictures like the one above.
